Formerly known as the Old Mutual Jazz Encounter, the first Windhoek International Jazz Festival was successfully hosted by the City of Windhoek on 3rd November 2012. Featuring local acts The Pulpit, Pulse, Chillin in the Park, Major 7s, Adora, Lize Ehlers, Ugly Creatures and Shishani, South Africa’s Lira and Selealo Selota topped the bill.
It was yet again a great honour for dB Audio to assist Jolene Nell consultancy and the Cancer Association of Namibia with CAN’s annual fund raising brunch at the Windhoek Country Club on 6th October 2012.
American hip-hopper Eve entertained Namibians at the Doc Jubber Hockey fields on 29th September 2012 alongside The Dogg, PDK, Sunny Boy, Lady May, Sally, Dantago and a host of other local entertainers. dB Audio supported Ogopa Butterfly Entertainment to make this dream a reality and to set the stage for more international headline acts in years to come.
dB Audio proudly supported the Namrock organizers and the Windhoek Show Society with the staging of the 2012 Namrock festival on 28th + 29th September 2012. Featuring only Namibian Rockers such as Penilane, Famaz Attak, Savannah, John Rock Prophet, Tonetic and Out of Nowhere this festival has established itself as an absolute highlight on the annual social calendar.
Organized by Sindana Communications, FNB Namibia’s 2012 managers’ conference concluded with a glamorous gala dinner on 14th Sept 2012 at the Nampower Convention Centre. The event only featured home-grown entertainment.
Rich Africa Consultancy successfully hosted the first Namibia Oil & Gas conference at the Windhoek Country Club Report & Casino from 5-7 September 2012. dB Audio assisted Namibia Events by taking care of the technical event requirements for all the conference activities.
The Ohlthaver & List group of companies rewarded staff who excels in living the group’s values during a gala dinner on 10th August 2012 at the WCCR. dB Audio assisted Sindana Communications to make a success of the evening which only featured Namibian entertainment.
Multichoice Namibia introduced their latest product, GOTV, during a cocktail reception in Windhoek on 4th July 2012. dB Audio supported Sindana Communications to enhance the brand’s high-tech look-and-feel.
The iconic Portuguese singer and impersonator Fernando Pereira entertained guests of the Portuguese Embassy in Windhoek on 4th June 2012 at the SKW. dB Audio provided all the tech for a very specific rider.
South African singing sensation Zahara headlined the Afro Pop outdoor concert at Vegkop stadium on 5th May 2012. dB Audio supported D-Club by taking care of all the technical requirements and stage management.
dB Audio supported main sponsors MTC and NBC, and show producers Rockstar 4000, to stage the 2’nd NAMA awards on 14th April 2012. With input from various fellow service providers, in particular Dreamsets from Johannesburg, the defunct Ramatex factory in Windhoek was miraculously transformed to a venue befitting the occasion.
Sindana Communications supported Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) to successfully present their Windhoek Lager Ambassador of the year initiative for the second consecutive year running. The 2011 winner was announced at a glittering gala dinner at the WCCR on March 28th.
On 7th March 2012, mobile telecommunications giant, MTC, celebrated 2 million customers by giving away 7 brand new Toyota Hilux pick-ups. dB Audio assisted Advantage Y&R and MTC to broadcast the event live via NBC TV.
After the tabling of the national budget in parliament on the afternoon of 28th February 2012, PriceWaterhouseCoopers Namibia hosted their annual Budget Review Dinner together with Standard Bank Namibia, Liberty Life & Stanlib. dB Audio assisted the PWC Corporate Communications Division and Greenleaf Designs in staging this safety themed gala dinner.
“The Last Band Standing” is an initiative from the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) which provides a platform for local bands to compete against each other in a round-robin knock-out competition. dB Audio is proud to partner with NTN in support of local talent.
Nedbank Namibia honoured their star employees during an ‘out-of-this-world’ function at Windhoek’s Safari Hotel on 10 February 2012. dB Audio supported Tamonika Events to reach new frontiers with this space-themed venture.
dB Audio supported Platinum Events at Windhoek’s Playhouse Theatre on 7th March 2012 where Santam Namibia awarded their top Brokers during a breakfast event.
From 26th to 29th March, Old Mutual travelled across Namibia – Oshakati , Tsumeb, Otjiwarongo, Windhoek, Keemanshoop & Walvis Bay their Executive road show. dB Audio was in tow to provide technical support.
The 6th annual Old Mutual Jazz Encounter was successfully staged on 8 October 2011. Headlining the concert was Jimmy Dludlu and Simphiwe Dana from South Africa, while local artists Big Ben, RUN N.A.M.S, Major 7s, Suzy Eises and Adora proved Namibian Jazz is right up there with the best of the best. dB Audio is proud to once again have been the technical production partner for this prestigious event.
Namibian songstress Sharon van Rooi teamed up with Swiss tenors Andri Calonder and Enrico Orlandi for an unforgettable night under the African stars at Windhoek’s Zoo Park on 15 October 2011. Thanks to Ernst Herma and Downtown M&E productions for this initiative.

Namibian rock band Famaz Attack launched their debut album “Famazuiticles” on 14 October 2011 and dB Audio provided a spectacular technical set-up which has hopefully raised the bar for local concerts!
dB Audio again supported Hilltop Live with the supply of sound, lighting, staging and AV for the 2nd annual Hart van Windhoek Festival at the Doc Jubber Hockey Fields on 16 & 17 September 2011. Featuring Westlife and an array of South African and Namibian artists, this event proved to be bigger and better than last year drawing a record crowd of 20 000 people over the 2 days.
dB Audio proudly partnered with Bank Windhoek to stage their Arts Festival’s flagship production for 2011. Written and directed by prof. Aldo Behrens, incorporating the writings of Adam Small, music by Randall Wicomb and featuring the Maranatha Singers, this inspiring musical was staged at the National Theatre of Namibia from 1 to 3 September and in the NPS Kulturaula in Swakopmund from 8 to 10 September.
Blanche Khumalo, Namibian born wife of South African soccer legend Doc Khumalo, showcased her label “Blanchero” during a fashion show at Safari Hotel on September 10th. dB Audio provided technical event support for the glamorous show which also featured 2 Namibian cultural designers, 2 South African designers and musical entertainment by RUN NAMS, Lize Ehlers and South Africa’s Liquid Deep.

Thanks to an initiative by Studio 77 and Ongoma, dB Audio had the perfect opportunity to let trainees of our recent courses put their newly-acquired knowledge to the test during a fabulous concert in the Old Breweries Craft Market. Featuring performances by Organic Groove, Just the Jazz Band, Lize Ehlers and friends (including an appearance by London-based dancer Tuli Shityuwete) and TONETiC, the audience's overwhelming response may see this event become regular on Windhoek's social calendar.
The Namibia Diamond Trading Company (NDTC) showcased the 2010/12 Diamond Design Collection at the Safari Hotel on February 17th 2011. dB Audio supported Namibia Events to make this a glittering occasion.
The iconic British reggae group UB40 performed live in Windhoek from 26 to 28 February 2011 at the Hage Geingob Stadium, in aid of the Hope Village Trust for the construction of a Hope Village in Rehoboth. dB Audio supplied all the sound, lighting, staging and audio visual support for the concerts which also featured Karen Zoid, Elvis Blue, Nadine, Winnie Khumalo, Ludik, Gal Level, Elemotho and Penilane.

Just Jinjer, Arno Carstens, Prime Circle, Goldfish, Penilane and Famaz Attack rocked Swakopmund on December 27th 2010 at the Vineta Stadium, arranged by My Space Events and facilitated by Mushroom Productions. dB Audio provided all the technical requirements.
Gold deposits? Oil exploration? Alien invasion? Windhoek was abuzz for a whole week prompted by the appearance of two mysterious looking domes near Maerua Mall on 18 March 2011. All was revealed on 26th March during a live TV broadcast – the discovery of 70 “rough diamonds” – the nominees for the 2011 Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs). dB Audio is proud to have supported Advantage Y&R and Tuckshop Brand in this highly successful event.
Sindana Communications assisted Namibia Breweries Limited to stage a glittering gala event at the Windhoek Country Club & Resort on 16th March where the NBL Namibian Ambassador of 2010 was crowned. dB Audio supplied the tech which included a striking multi-tiered stage.
The first Huisgenoot Hart van Windhoek festival was successfully staged at Wanderers Sport Grounds on 15 + 16 October 2010 featuring the cream of the Afrikaans music crops. dB Audio supported Hilltop Live/Oppikoppi with technical event support to cater for a record audience in excess of 15,000 over the two days. The success of this maiden festival prompted the organizers to announce that the Hart van Windhoek is set to become an annual event.

This event saw the construction of our largest roof structure to date accommodating headline acts Freshly Ground and Vusi Mahlasela from South Africa with local artists Patricia and Friends, Fujazz, Sigera and Erna Chimu.
